According to the TBI, Zachary Rye Adams has been charged with Coercion of Witness in the ongoing investigation into the Holly Bobo disappearance.
“Through the course of this investigation in recent weeks, additional information was developed that led special agents to secure an arrest warrant today, charging Adams with a single count of Coercion of Witness,” a release from the TBI read.
TBI Director Mark Gwyn says the TBI will not tolerate these types of things.
“We will not tolerate any kind of coercion in criminal cases,” Gwyn said. “But in a case like this, which has attracted so much interest and required so many resources, rest assured we will fight hard to protect the integrity of our work, as we seek justice for the family and friends of Holly Bobo.”
The warrant was served today and Rye is still being held without bond at Chester County Jail.
Adams was indicted on March 5 with Felony First Degree Murder and Especially Aggravated Kidnapping.
The TBI urges anyone with information about the Bobo case to call 1-800-TBI-FIND.
Update: According to two Nashville TV stations, the witness Adams has been charged with coercing his brother. Adams gave the inmate a message to pass along to his brother when he found out the inmate was being transferred to Obion County Jail, where his brother is being held.
“Tell my brother he is the one who started all this (expletive) and if he don’t shut his mouth he will be in the hole beside her,” was Adams’ message according to the warrant.
The warrant says that the inmate then gave the message to the TBI.
