After seeing the team’s fall season postponed until the spring, the UTM cross country program will finally make its long awaited return to competition on Saturday with the start of the 2020-21 season.
Both the men’s and women’s programs will compete in a full slate with four regular season meets before the Ohio Valley Conference Championship in hopes of competing for a national championship in March.
UTM will begin the season on Saturday, Jan. 23 when competing at the Redhawk Invitational in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. The men’s 8k race will be held at 1 p.m. with the women’s 5k to follow at 1:45 p.m.
The Skyhawks will then split the squad on Friday, Feb. 5 when competing at both the Florida State Winter XC Classic in Tallahassee, Florida and the Murray State Open in Murray, Kentucky.
UTM will compete at the Golden Eagle Invitational in Cookeville, Tennessee in its final tune-up prior to the OVC Championship on Friday, Feb. 19. The women’s 5k will start at 3 p.m. with the men’s 8k to follow at 3:30 p.m.
The Skyhawks will then look to make waves at the OVC Cross Country Championships held in Clarksville, Tennessee on Monday, March 1.
