TV flicks you should embrace this fall season

The time has come for chilly, spooky nights and atmospheric, cozy days.

As fall creeps up on us this season, it’s time to grab a blanket and a snack while we all start a new binge-watch. Whether it’s a nostalgic movie or a brand new docuseries, we have six movies and six shows for you to bundle up to.

Starting with our TV favs:

Gilmore Girls (2000) — This coming of age story takes place in Rory Gilmore’s small town, and details the closeness between a teen girl and her mother. This show is often considered very relatable and heartwarming for teens and young adults. Available for streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and Apple TV

Gravity Falls (2012) — Two tweens move to the woods with their uncle and are terrorized by the anomalies of the town, as they get closer to uncovering the secrets of an interdimensional demon. Available for streaming on Hulu, Disney+, Sling TV, YouTube and Apple TV

Pretty Little Liars (2010) — A group of girls dealing with their friend’s death are tormented by anonymous “A” and must overcome the tribulations they face. Available for streaming on Hulu, Disney +, Amazon Prime, Max, YouTube TV, YouTube and Apple TV

You (2018) — A man obsesses over women, trapping them into his never-ending cycle of obsession and death as he manipulates them into falling for him. Available for streaming on Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube and Apple TV

Baby Reindeer (2024) — A true story about a man facing the obsession of a serial violent stalker, this troubling docuseries is sure to chill you to the bone. Available for streaming on Netflix

My Babysitter’s a Vampire (2011) — An irresponsible teenage boy, his best friend, and his half-vampire babysitter battle supernatural creatures from their nightmares in hopes of saving their town from a vampire takeover. Available for purchase on YouTube

Moving on to long form content:

The Halloweentown Saga (1998-2004) — Following a young witch who has just come of age and her younger siblings, this movie series details the evils they face while trying to unite the human and monster worlds. Available for streaming on Disney Now, Disney+, fuboTV, Sling TV, Amazon Prime and YouTube TV

Coraline (2009) — A seemingly perfect woman entices children away from their families, tricking them into giving themselves up to her. Available for streaming on The Roku Channel, Pluto TV, Amazon Prime and Apple TV

Bones and All (2022) — Following young girl Maren, this film tells the story of Eaters, people who must eat people to satiate themselves. Available for streaming on The Roku Channel, Philo, Sling TV, MGM+, Amazon Prime, YouTube TV, YouTube, and Apple TV

The Twilight Saga (2008-2012) — This iconic saga tells the story of a human girl who falls in love with a hundred year old vampire, and the trials they must go through to get their happy ending. Available for purchase on Google Play Movies, Fandango, Amazon Prime, YouTube and Apple TV

Casper (1995) — A father and his daughter move into a house to rid it of evil spirits and they find a friendly ghost. Available for streaming on Peacock, Sling TV, Amazon Prime and Apple TV

Matilda (1996) — Matilda, a 6-year-old genius with psychic powers, is mistreated by her family and helps free her teacher from the grip of the sadistic headmistress, aiding her own escape as well. Available for streaming on Netflix, Sling TV, Amazon Prime and Apple TV
