May 4th was not only the day of the Force, but was also the day’s most important night of fashion.
The Met Gala was held in New York City, where celebrities celebrated under Anna Wintour, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Magazine. Through the night, photographers caught some of the “loudest” looks of the night with the gala’s theme of China: Through the Looking Glass.
The Queen-B herself turned heads as she entered in a Givenchy number, a shimmery and jeweled dress that showed everything but the basics, literally.
Rihanna wore Guo Pei’s interpretation of mustard in dress form, with a shoulder cover and the embroidery of fuzz. Seriously, every time I look at this dress, I crave pizza.
Kim Kardashian was Beyonce’s twin, pulling a similar barely-cover dress by Roberto Calvalli. Some are expecting a turf fight between her and Beyonce in the near future.
Justin Bieber might have gotten the theme confused, since his Balmain jacket reminded us either of a Spaniard or the late Michael Jackson.
Solange Knowles’s frock by Giles looked pretty retro in the graphic print. Leave it to her to steal the night with one of the mos memorable dresses.
There were of course many other looks that made viewers make a double take, but these were the styles that are worth talking about.
