Every year people run around stores, buy loads of flowers, plan extravagant dinners and spend large amounts of money in an effort to spread love for one day.
I think that Valentine’s Day is way too overrated and that love should be spread all year round, but all of my friends think otherwise. They consider celebrating Valentine’s Day as essential and one of the most important days of the year.
Love is Important
One of the most common reasons people say they love Valentine’s Day is the love itself. Valentine’s Day is a day dedicated to love, so it is not surprising that it is the main reason it is loved. A day of showing love to partners, family and friends draws people to the holiday like a magnet. According to The Important Site, Valentine’s Day “encourages people to appreciate and celebrate their relationships, fostering emotional connections and strengthening bonds.”
Valentine’s Day candies and chocolates
Valentine’s Day candy is another reason for the love of Valentine’s Day. Candies such as conversation hearts and heart-shaped chocolates are exclusive to the Valentine’s season. Many people, even if they do not love the taste of the candies, enjoy buying and sharing the candies with friends and family members.
The Feeling of Giving
Surprisingly the giving parts of Valentine’s Day are also important to people. It is a weird feeling that bubbles up in people’s hearts when they buy flowers or pay for dinners for those who are important to them. A warm feeling unlike any other that is only acquired through this action. Even if it is something as small as a flower for their mother or as big as a dinner party for friends, just the action of giving to another person on Valentine’s Day is a huge factor in people’s love of the season.
Valentine’s Day is important to many for many reasons, and each person has their own reason. Although, I think it is overrated, I understand the love of the season. So while you have time, give your family, friends or loved ones something and spread the love of Valentine’s Day around.
