Skyhawk women’s basketball launches new website

Head coach Kevin McMillan and the University of Tennessee at Martin women’s basketball program unveiled its new website, http://utmartinwomensbasketball.com/. The site is designed to showcase the program and the university through cutting edge technology.

“We saw an opportunity to showcase how unique our program is at UT Martin and in order to keep up with the changes in technology, we thought a new website was the best platform to use,” said McMillan. “When you look throughout the stands and in the community, we have the best fans in the conference. We want to continue to open our program up to our fans, the community and West Tennessee. In today’s world, technology is the easiest and most efficient way to connect with our alumni, fans and friends. We hope the new website allows everyone to join and become submersed in our program in a way that is free and accessible for anyone to see.”

An exciting aspect of the website is that it was built completely custom to the UTM program, making it easy to maintain and ensuring that it will remain fresh. The website offers visitors multiple navigation and design features that keep viewers interested without compromising the content. Visitors can meet the team by clicking on their nameplates to show each player’s expanded profile while enjoying video montages on the home page.

In addition to providing interesting information on the players and the coaching staff, the site also features virtual tours of the Elam Center and the UTM campus. The “Why UTM” section elaborates on all aspects of the UTM program ranging from academics, championships, Skyhawk pride and its family environment.

The Skyhawks have won three consecutive Ohio Valley Conference Tournament titles while earning three straight NCAA Tournament berths. This season the team has scored in triple digits a program record five times, including 100-plus in three consecutive outings. In addition to the play of the dynamic duo of senior guards Heather Butler and Jasmine Newsome, the Skyhawks have won nine consecutive games and currently rank in the 24th in the latest College Insider Women’s Mid-Major Top 25.
