Despite not having any players drafted in the 2020 NFL Draft, the UTM football team can take pride that senior wide receiver (WR) Jaylon Moore has advanced to the next level.
Shortly following the conclusion of the Draft, the Memphis native signed a free agent deal with the Baltimore Ravens, who were not only a playoff team in 2019 but also a favorite to win the Super Bowl with a 14-2 record.
Moore began his collegiate football career in 2015 with the Skyhawks and made his debut in orange and blue in 2016, suiting up for nine games and compiling 104 receiving yards.
While Moore improved in 2017, his most productive year came in 2018 where he recorded collegiate highs in total yards (799) and yards per game (72.6). In 2019, Moore battled through injuries to compile 292 yards over 16 receptions in addition to scoring five touchdowns on the season.
Moore’s best game in 2019 came in a pivotal loss to the eventual conference champion Austin Peay. Against the Governors, Moore racked up 87 yards and three touchdowns.
During his tenure as a Skyhawk, Moore caught 92 passes for 1,492 yards. In addition, his 18 touchdowns rank third in program history, according to Sports Information.
As of 7 a.m. April 26, Moore has joined a Ravens undrafted rookie class of 22, per The Baltimore Sun.
