Kelly is a very involved and active student. He is a football player for the Skyhawks; he plays both defensive and offensive line.

Kelly is a proud member of the Tau Psi chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. from the spring 2011 line. He is also a member of Alpha Kappa Psi, a business fraternity on campus. He is involved with the H.Y.P.E Ministries and FCA, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; he has also done a play with H.Y.P.E.

Kelly was born and raised in Riverside, CA. He is the son of Valerie and Anthony Sr., and he has two younger brothers. Jonathan and Jesse. He is a psychology major, with a minor in criminal justice. He plans on pursuing his career law and becoming a defense attorney.

Kelly states, “After school, I plan on re-enrolling at UTM so I can re-take some classes, to boost my GPA up for law school.”

Kelly is a junior college transfer from Chaffey Junior College and was offered a full-scholarship to play football and made the choice to accept it and attend Martin.

To the underclassmen Kelly says, “Do not do anything that goes against your personal morals and beliefs. Do not engage in any activities, just for the approval from others. Be yourself, and believe in yourself. If you didn’t do it before, then don’t start now.”

Kelly is a big family man and a very humble person. Kelly would like to one day be able to support and take care of his family the way that they have taken care and supported him throughout his life. He enjoys spending as much time as he possibly can with family and friend.

The move from home was Kelly’s biggest obstacles because he so close to his family, but he does very much enjoy the southern hospitality.

He says, “I would like to give thanks to my Family back at home in California, because without them, I would be non-existent. I would like to give thanks to my fraternity and how it has helped polish me into a better individual.  And to everyone who has doubted me, and continues to do so, I thank you for providing the fuel that keeps my engine going.”

Kelly has enjoyed his years here in Martin. He says he has had many learning experienced many things.

“I would like to say thank you to everyone that I have met throughout this long and never ending journey. I have learned a lot and Martin has helped me grow into a bigger man, literally and figuratively,” says Kelly.
