This college is it’s own little community, and will continue to be so long after I’m gone. I’ve been involved, sure, but this isn’t about me. Any growth I experienced during my college experience wasn’t dependent on me, and my farewell isn’t going to be about me either. Some of the best parts of the last few years is a result of the faculty that I have found, or have somehow found me.
Whatever department you find yourself in, find yourself a (Mommy) Tomi McCutchen, and you will have found someone who will take you under her wing and love you unconditionally. Meeting Dr. Ogg is coming in contact with a genuinely funny ray of light who loves students with an intensity I’ve never seen in another faculty member. Chances are Andrew Brown will find you, and force you to apply the potential he sees in you to your classes. Take a Sociology course by Dr. Anderson, because she will ruin things you hold dear and you will be thankful for it, and somehow while she was talking about the importance of cow manure you were growing as a person.
Find your people.
To everyone who has provided guidance, light, or has allowed me to pet their dog during these years, thank you.
