UT Martin’s second Fall Preview Day of the fall 2023 semester showcased the university and the numerous student organizations, academic programs and opportunities for the class of 2028.
Fall Preview Days are annual events conducted at universities around the United States that give aspiring applicants a chance to see and tour campuses more exclusively. They are also beneficial days for current students, as preview days are normally held on weekends when classes are not ongoing.
UT Martin has held one preview day earlier this semester on Sept. 16, with a smaller number of students and families touring campus.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, UT Martin started Fall Preview Day in the Kathleen and Tom Elam Center. There, future students could walk the gymnasium floor and meet representatives of most of the student organizations on campus.
Attendees included:
The UT Martin Rotary Club
Student Nurses of America
The Agronomy Club
The UT Martin Wildlife Society
The Latin-Hispanic Student Association
Orange and Blue Crew
And many more.
Additionally, there were also several of the academic programs and colleges showcased Saturday morning, such as the Education program, Agriculture and Wildlife Studies, Nursing, the Department of Mass Media, Psychology, and International Studies.
‘Fall Preview Day’ began at 9:30 a.m., and the student organization preview ended at 11:00 a.m., where future students were then introduced to Chancellor Yancy Freeman. Students also had a chance to meet their admissions counselors from varying areas of Tennessee. There was a moment of applause gifted to all service men and women shortly after Chancellor Freeman concluded his opening address to thank military families for giving students this opportunity with the freedom they have.
There will be no more preview days for the remainder of the semester. Spring days have yet to be determined as UT Martin has rolling admissions deadlines.
