The search continues for three suspects in a shooting that left one dead and four injured near the campus of Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
The victims were not students of Austin Peay, however all students were alerted as the shooting occurred just blocks away from campus. Emergency services and police used sports fields for the arrival of helicopters. According to NBC, there is nothing that indicates this was related to anything at the college, and there does not appear to be any danger to the university community.
This is believed to be a drive-by shooting that took place Monday night. The victims were having a “cook out” when the incident occurred. According to The Leaf-Chronicle, the victims were Vincent Pardue, 27;Tony Greene Jr., 28; Quinton Fentress, 27;Timothy Russell, 31 and Dajuan Dowlen, 23. Pardue died as a result of his injuries, Green and Fentress were taken by helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Russell and Dowlen were taken by ambulance to Gateway Medical Center where they were treated for their injuries and later released. Pardue was a father and was just recently married.
