The 51st annual UTM Rodeo Weekend is upon us, and the excitement is as high as ever.
Rodeo weekend is slated to take place April 11-13 at the Ned Ray McWherter Agricultural Complex.
Rodeo is often seen as Martin’s crown jewel, and Rodeo Weekend as the city’s top event.
According to UTM Sports Information, UTM’s rodeo has been recognized as the Ozark Region’s “Rodeo of the Year” for 13 years straight.
Martin takes its rodeo seriously, and we at The Pacer encourage everyone to go out and support the rodeo team and extend the streak to 14 years.
Although Rodeo Weekend is the feature event of UTM sports this week, we also encourage everyone at UTM to show other school sports teams some love as well.
The Skyhawk baseball team will be playing this weekend in Illinois but will return to OVC opponent Austin Peay next Thursday, April 18, at home.
Track and field will be competing in Clarksville this Friday, April 12.
The softball team has their hands full this week, as they play three OVC opponents April 10-15. The Skyhawks will take on Southeast Missouri on Wednesday, Murray State on Friday, and Austin Peay on Sunday in Martin.
Sports are a big part of UTM and we hope that all UTM students feel the same.
Let’s get out there and show some orange and blue pride, Skyhawks.
