The Martins are a Christian group from Hamburg, Tenn., that have been singing together for 35 years.
The group is a family group. Jonathan Martin is the brother of Joyce Martin Sanders and Judy Martin Hess. The Martins came to the Soybean Festival Wednesday Sept. 4, 2013, for faith and family night and rocked the house.
The Martins sang some gospel songs, as well as some country and many acapella, and the crowd loved every bit of the performance. Once the concert was over, they greeted the crowd, taking pictures and talking to any and everyone.
When asked what their message was for the fans, Joyce Martin said, “God loves you; nothing you can do to make him stop loving you, and he is everything you need.”
With a schedule of 150 days on the road this year, stress can quickly become a problem.
“Hunting or driving at night, it’s about finding some quiet time,” said Jonathan, as his way to relieve stress.
“Talk radio really helps me decompress. It is important to find your stress relief and find time with your family,” said Joyce.
To the Martins, family time is extremely important. It is their belief that you have to take advantage of any time that you get. They suggest not taking phone calls when spending time with your family. The Martins do not answer the phone, even when it might mean a missed opportunity for a good show for the group, because family is more important to them.
The Martins gave a great show, and it was a good way to end the faith and family night for the Soybean Festival.
The crowd seemed to really enjoy the Martins; the space in front of the stage was completely filled.
The Soybean Festival is full of fun events and great performers, and this show was no different.
