The Real Deal Party dominated the SGA elections on April 2, making this the third year in a row they will represent UTM.

The Real Deal Party will occupy the three Executive Council positions as well 23 of the 30 Senator positions. Rick Drewry will be President, Alex Wilson will be the Vice President and Allie Avery will hold the office of Secretary General.

“I made a promise that I would listen to all students in Greek Life, Student Organizations and those who choose not to associate with any organization. It will be my duty as President to listen to those,”Drewry said.

Drewry plans to carry out his promises to the student body. Wilson says he has represented UTM students to the “best of his ability” and will continue doing what he has done over the last two years. Avery says she will work to increase the Greek Community’s involvement in all aspects of campus and beyond.

“My goals are to increase attendance to athletic events and to also make Greek Life better by making them less secluded and more involved with other organization,” Avery said.

The 2013-2014 Attorney General will be Jesse Luke Robinson and the Student Defender will be Dimitric Brown. Because only one student ran for the position of Justice, the other four were voted in based on the number of write-in votes they received. Hunter Lindberg, Erica Reed, Cassandra Rogers, Darian Matheny and Brittney Meskimen will be representing UTM as the five Justices.

Each College received representation based on the number of students enrolled in each. The College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences received four Senators: Christy Chicas, Syrena Flowers, Devin Parker and Grant Saum.

The College of Business and Global Affairs also received four representatives: John Domanski, Willie Robertson, Colin Watts and Ana Whitten. Receiving the highest number of representatives, the College of Health, Education and Behavioral Sciences will have 12 Senators: Sarah Aerts, Justin Bailey, Chelsea Boyd, Rachel Bruce, Laurel Ellzey, Abby Frantom, Danny Maness, Mary Medling, Joe Nelson, DeAria Shields, Elizabeth Packard and Jana Vestal.

The College of Engineering and Applied Sciences received four positions and will be represented by Erin Gallagher, Sean O’Brien, Samuel Reed and Robert Reeves. The College of Humanities and Fine Arts was given six seats and will be represented by Carley Cherry, Della Coleman, Tucker Gillihan, Payton Mink, Rachel Steiner and Aubrey Walgren.

The new SGA officers will take their respective positions some time during the month of April.
