Pop/R&B singer Beyoncé Knowles has released a Platinum Edition Box Set of her recent album Beyoncé just in time for the holidays.
The four-disc limited-edition box was released Nov. 24. It included two CD and two DVD discs with a 14-song audio CD and corresponding music videos and a DVD of live performances from her recent “Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.”
The platinum edition set also includes two news songs, “7/11” and “Ring Off” and four remixes from Kanye West (Drunk in Love), Pharrell Williams (Blow) and Nicki Minaj (Flawless).
Queen Bey also gives fans an official 2015 Beyoncé mini calendar.
“I love Beyoncé’, I think all of her music is genius. Beyoncé was already a great album. Her new song 7/11 is my new favorite song; it’s a party song. Ring Off is kind of a personal song but of course all women can relate to it,” said freshman Biology major Nadia Freeman.
While some fans are not quite satisfied with the singer’s release of this album, instead of her highly anticipated sixth album she has been working on, most have been expressing their love for this platinum edition album all over social media.
“Beyoncé makes good music but I feel the album is overpriced, especially when it’s something that she has already released and we already know that album, two extra songs is not worth 40 dollars,” said senior Animal Science major Crystal Roach.
Knowles’ new single, 7/11, was released shortly after the album with a homemade, fun, absorbing video that corresponds with it. The video received much feedback from fans and other celebrities as well.
Actor Keke Palmer used her Twitter account to praise Beyoncé for a job well done. She tweeted, “Yes Bey, keep shining that light.”
Singer Sam Smith also showed his support for the singer by tweeting, “Beyoncé 7/11 vid – super raw. I love it.”
The Beyoncé Platinum Edition Box Set is available in stores and online now.
