The UT Martin Department of Music hosted the first Wind Ensemble and Choir joint concert on Dec. 3 at the Harriet Fulton Theatre in the Fine Arts Building. The event featured the UT Martin Wind Ensemble, led by Dr. John Oelrich, along with the University Singers and New Pacer Singers, both led by Dr. Mark Statler. Also featured were guest conductors Clara Kallaos and Landen Dougherty, both students from the UT Martin Department of Music.
Arrangements presented included Best and Brightest (1970) arranged by Shawn Kirchner, Oh, Watch the Stars (1976) arranged by Moira Smiley, Gloria (1678-1741) by Antonio Vivaldi, Stars (1977) by Ēriks Ešenvalds, We Toast the Days (1965) by Linda Kachelmeier, How Sweet the Sound (2024) (1975) by Brian Balmages, First Suite in Eb (1909) (1874-1934) by Gustav Holst and edited by Colin Matthews, Old Scottish Melody (1977) (1925-1992) by Charles A. Wiley, Rest (2008) (1966) by Samuel R. Hazo, Colonial Song (1911 original /1918 band /1997 current edition) (1882-1961) by Percy Aldridge Grainger and edited by Mark Rogers, The Very Best Time of the Year (2001) (1970) by John Rutter, and A Christmas Festival (1950) (1908-1975) by Leroy Anderson.
