The brothers of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia hosted their annual All Sing competition Thursday evening at Central Baptist Church.
The judges for the 2016 All Sing Competition were UTM director of choral activities, Mark Simmons and Murray State’s dance choreographer, Amanda Hagan. Last year’s winner, Chi Omega competed again this year in the “Idols” themed show with selections from Adele and The Beatles.
The sisters of Alpha Delta Pi took home the victory this year with their exclusively Bruno Mars performance. In true Sinfonian nature, after presenting the winning team with their All Sing Trophy, which is a six-foot painted paddle, they sang their Serenade for the girls.
Sigma Alpha Iota performed in exhibition at the end of the competing acts with selections by Michael Jackson and the brothers hosting the event closed the evening with Parting Song.
Phi Mu Alpha’s All Sing competition is their main philanthropy fundraiser which goes to benefit musical institutions throughout the nation. Whether it be for the benefit of schools, libraries, hospitals or nursing homes, Sinfonians are always pursuing the advancement of music in America. Their All Sing competition is not strictly Greek limited and the brothers of Phi Mu Alpha would like to invite any school organization to participate and compete in the years to come.
