Pacer staff promotes print issue

Staff members of The Pacer, UT Martin’s student newspaper, held a tabling event Nov. 17 in the University Center to distribute the second printed issue of the fall 2022 semester and other free merchandise to students.

The Pacer, which is the flagship publication of the Office of Student Publications, continued its yearlong celebration of the 95th anniversary of UT Martin student journalism by giving out more than 200 copies of the latest newspaper.

From 11:30 a.m. to after 1 p.m. on Nov. 17, additional free items were also given away with the newspaper to try to educate students about The Pacer and increase traffic to its website, www.thepacer.net. Some of these items include color-changing cups, drawstring bags and information pamphlets about Student Publications.

Three more print issues are planned for the spring 2023 semester, though the website is updated frequently. The staff is planning to release Issue 3 of Volume 95 in mid-January, right after classes begin. Racks inside academic buildings and many front desks will hold newspapers, so follow The Pacer on Facebook or Instagram to find out when papers will be distributed.

Student Publications also prints Taking Flight new-student magazine, BeanSwitch literary and visual arts magazine, and Soaring to Success commencement magazine.
