Oprah, Jason Momoa and Big Bird announce new Apple streaming service

Apple recently announced its new streaming service, Apple TV Plus.

The announcement came at Apple’s “It’s Show Time” event in California on March 25. The announcement did not feature many details on the service but featured many A-list celebrities.

Stars including Oprah Winfrey, Jason Momoa and even Big Bird from Sesame Street took to the stage at Apple Headquarters for the announcement.

The service will feature exclusive shows, movies and documentaries. Acclaimed filmmakers J.J. Abrams, Steven Spielberg and M. Night Shyamalan will be working with the service to produce exclusive content.

Stars such as Oprah Winfrey, Jason Momoa, Jennifer Anniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell are signed up to be involved with the service.

Winfrey has two documentaries in the works for Apple TV Plus. One will focus on mental health and the other on sexual harassment in the workplace.

Aniston, Witherspoon and Carell will star together in a show called Morning Show. The comedy will be a behind-the-scenes look at the drama at a TV morning show.

Momoa will star in a show called See, which will take place in a world devastated by a virus that wiped out most of the world’s population and left survivors blind.

Big Bird made an appearance to showcase the service’s Sesame Street spin-off, Helpsters.

The service will only feature exclusive content. It will not feature any licensed programming like its competitor Netflix. This means there will be no syndicated shows like The Big Bang Theory or Criminal Minds.

Apple TV Plus will become available sometime between September and November. The service will be ad-free and available in over 100 countries. It will be accessible through a section of the Apple TV app on iOS, Mac and other platforms.

Apple has not yet announced what the service will cost.

The event also announced several other services, such as an Apple credit card, a magazine and news subscription service and a streaming platform for gaming.
