Justin Bieber just released his latest album Changes on Feb. 14, which is a follow-up on his album Purpose released in 2015.
The album cover is red and shows Justin shirtless, which sets the perfect mood for a Valentine’s Day release. There are 17 tracks on this album including collaborations from Kehlani, Post Malone, Clever, Quavo, Lil Dicky, Travis Scott and Summer Walker.
This album shows an emotional side of Justin. The majority of this album has a soft electronic beat to it, while some songs have a heavy R&B influence to them.
“Get Me” featuring Kehlani is on track 11. This song brings back an old school R&B vibe. It shows a more calm and mellow side of Justin as he once again sings about his emotions. It is obvious that a lot of these songs are about his wife, Hailey.
On track four, Quavo collaborates on the song “Intentions.” Justin sings “Shout out to your mom and dad for making you. Standing ovation, they did a great job raising you.” This song is a bit over the top for me. What guy thanks a parent for making their child? That is a little too romantic for me.
The beginning of track 6, titled “Available” sounds like someone is playing Pac-Man. Once the song starts up it begins to sound similar to Maroon 5’s hit “Moves Like Jagger.” I’m not sure what Justin was thinking with this one. With the album titled as Changes I would have thought to see more from Bieber. I was expecting to see more rapping and less talk about his love life.
This album is basically dedicated to Hailey, with all the sappy lines like “I just wanna be the best of me. Even though sometimes, I forget to breathe. So that I can be the best for you.” Although this album isn’t normally what I listen to, I could listen to a few songs.
Justin Bieber claims that he’s going through changes but to me he still sounds like the same 13 year old boy who was singing “baby, baby, baby, ohh.”
