NFL Award Predictions after week 7: Sexy Dexy leads the way for DPOY

As each NFL week goes by, the idea of who will win each award keeps floating around in fans and analysts’ heads.

Who will win each award though? Here are my current picks if the season ended today.

MVP: Josh Allen | QB | Bills

Allen is my MVP pick, and a big factor into me having him as my pick is that he has still thrown zero INTs on the year. On top of that, he is first in QBR (Quarterback Rating) at 77.6. His ability to take over games has been like no other player this year. He also comes with 15 total TDs on the year. You take Allen off the Bills, and I would argue they may win one or two games at this point in the season.

DraftKings Odds: +500 (3rd)

Rank Movement: +/- 0

2. Lamar Jackson | QB | Ravens

3. Derrick Henry | RB | Ravens

King Henry is back and better than ever. Henry won the award back in 2020 and was the first Titan to win it, and I think he wins it again this year as the pace he is on is insane, especially at his age. His current statline includes 935 total yards, 10 total TDs and zero turnovers. His on pace statline includes 2120 rushing yards, 19 rushing TDs, 151 receiving yards and five receiving TDs. This puts Henry on pace to break the most rushing yards in a season record, which is currently held at 2105 yards by former Ram and Hall of Fame RB Eric Dickerson.

DraftKings Odds: +100 (1st)

Rank Movement: N/A

2. Ja’Marr Chase | WR | Bengals

3. Jordan Mason | RB | 49ers

DPOY: “Sexy Dexy” (Dexter Lawrence II) | NT | Giants

“Sexy Dexy, Sexy Dexy” is what Dexter Lawrence says every time he makes a play. Just happens to be, he is in the backfield and making plays a lot. Lawrence is on pace to break the sack record by a nose tackle at 22 sacks with the record (18) currently held by the late Hall of Famer and former Cowboy Gil Brandt. This would also put him tied at second for most sacks in a season. The craziest thing is he is a NT doing this, not an EDGE.

DraftKings Odds: +300 (2nd)

Rank Movement: N/A

2. Brian Branch | S | Lions

3. Andrew Van Ginkel | EDGE | Vikings

OROY: Jayden Daniels | QB | Commanders

Is he this year’s C.J. Stroud? Turning a bad team around, playing at an all time rookie level and has a defensive head coach? I do not think he is playing that well, but that is not to discredit Daniels. He is playing at a high level nonetheless. Him missing a week due to injury could knock him down a ranking so though after this week.

DraftKings Odds: -145 (1st)

Rank Movement: N/A

2. Brian Thomas Jr. | WR | Jaguars

3. Caleb Williams | QB | Bears

DROY: Jared Verse | EDGE | Rams

This was the award I struggled with the most. Verse is like that. Him and fellow Ram rookie Braden Fiske are first and second in pressures among rookies. While Verse may not shock you on the stat sheet, his impact has been very noticeable this season, having a pass rush win rate of 27% (4th among all defenders) and the highest pressure rate at 23.6% in the league as a rookie.

DraftKings Odds: +200 (tied for 1st)

Rank Movement: N/A

2. Evan Williams | S | Packers

3. Kamari Lassiter | CB | Texans
