As the NFL Draft gets closer and closer, fans become more nervous and excited for who their favorite teams could be drafting.
NFL teams have something known as a “Draft Board.” That board is their rankings of the upcoming rookies based off needs, whether or not it is a luxury pick, player rankings and several other factors. With that being explained, here is my 2024 Draft Board along with a small look at who the top 10 are.
Board Rankings:
- WR(1) Marvin Harrison Jr, Ohio State: Is he the best wide receiver (WR) prospect ever? I definitely believe there is an argument for it considering his skill set and lineage. He has a chance to be one of the best “NFL sons.”
- OT(1) Joe Alt, Notre Dame: Alt is a monster at offensive tackle (OT) and will mostly likely come into the NFL as already one of the best in the league.
- TE(1) Brock Bowers, Georgia: Similar to Harrison, there is an argument for Bowers being the best tight end (TE) prospect ever. That is how good he is. Bowers could fall though due to his position and the current market for TEs.
- QB(1) Caleb Williams, USC: Is he generational? I do not believe so but he is as close as you can get. Williams will come in and change the Bears (he is going to be Bear) forever.
- QB(2) Drake Maye, UNC: Another very good quarterback (QB) in this year’s class, and I expect big things from him as well.
- WR(2) Rome Odunze, Washington: Odunze’s catch in traffic and radius is insane at 75%. The next highest for a first round projected WR this year was at 46%. I am expecting big things out of him.
- WR(3) Malik Nabers, LSU: Easily the best burner in this class (not faster than Texas WR Xavier Worthy but better overall). He would easily be the number one WR in most other classes.
- EDGE(1) Laiatu Latu, UCLA: If it was not for health concerns, I could see an argument for Latu going pick 4 to the Cardinals or pick 7 to the Titans. Sadly though there is. Nonetheless Latu is a monster at pass rusher (EDGE) and barring injury should be solid for the years to come.
- OT(2) Olu Fashanu, Penn State: Slowly but surely he has been falling down people’s boards, but I still believe he is OT2 in this class and will pan out well in the NFL.
- EDGE(2) Dallas Turner, Alabama: A very good pass rusher but has some flaws to his game that do not always translate to the NFL well. With a good mentor or fellow pass rusher opposite or beside him, I expect him to figure it out.
