NFL 2024-25 award predictions after week 11: New frontrunners take over four different awards

This is a big week for us to discuss as I have not one, not two, not three but four new awards leaders.

MVP: Lamar Jackson | QB | Ravens

Overall not much change here. Jackson had a pretty poor week if we are being honest, but the other guys below him did not do enough to take over Jackson as the MVP frontrunner. I will say, when looking at the stat sheet you may see that Jackson was picked off once, but that was more of just a great play by Steelers rookie linebacker (LB) Payton Wilson than a bad play by Lamar.

3. Justin Herbert | QB | Chargers +/-0

OPOY: Derrick Henry | RB | Ravens

I went back and forth on this award so much. On one hand, you have an aging running back (RB) who is playing at an insane level of consistency, someone his age should not be. On the other, you have a wide receiver (WR) who is playing out of his mind the past two weeks at over 300 yards and five TDs in the past two games. Just overall a struggle between picking these between the two and I could see an argument for either. I just decided to go with Henry in the end.

2. Ja’Marr Chase | WR | Bengals -1

3. Saquon Barkley | RB | Eagles -NEW-

DPOY: Kerby Joseph | S | Lions

We have a new leader at DPOY. Hendrickson is coming off of a not so impressive game and Lawrence was on a bye week. That paves the way for a guy who has been insane in coverage this year, Kerby Joseph. It is rare that you see a defensive back win this award, but if he keeps this play up [currently at seven INTs and ranked as first for safeties (S) via PFF grading overall (91.3) and in coverage (91.4)], I could see it happening.

Rank Movement: +2

2. Trey Hendrickson | EDGE | Bengals -1

3. Dexter Lawrence II | DT | Giants -1

OROY: Brock Bowers | TE | Raiders

Bowers is just like that. I do not think we have ever seen a rookie tight end play this well. Maybe Falcons Kyle Pitts, but even then, Bowers is well on his way to shattering Pitts’ catches and yards, and he already has shattered his touchdown totals. Bowers moves up after a not so impressive week by Daniels (who is playing hurt). One could make the argument for Nix to be in this spot, but I gave the nod to Bowers.

Rank Movement: +2

2. Bo Nix | QB | Broncos +/-0

3. Jayden Daniels | QB | Commanders -2

DROY: Quinyon Mitchell | CB | Eagles

Three award changes in one week? Crazy but it is just how the cards fell. Mitchell takes over this spot after holding Commanders superstar WR Terry McLaurin to just one catch and 10 yards on two targets. A huge reason why that target number is so low is because of how on lockdown Mitchell was. He moved up to this spot after Verse had a just-okay week against a very weak Patriots offensive line.

Rank Movement: +2

2. Jared Verse | EDGE | Rams -1

3. Cooper DeJean | DB | Eagles -1
