For those who like ziplining, an aerial adventure park will open this summer at Fall Creek Falls State Park near Pikeville, Tennessee.
ZIPstream Fall Creek Falls is currently set to open in early June. The attraction will be open daily to the public during the summer, and on the weekends during fall and spring.
The ZIPstream adventure is a 2.5-hour, self-guided expedition, giving visitors the opportunity to explore the course at their own pace. The ZIPstream offers six routes, with eight to 13 elements and graded from easy to extreme. Many obstacles are created for all ages, but some are for the more seasoned zipliners to tour.
Courses include a canopy obstacle course that has different suspension bridges between trees, and even a simulated broken bridge for visitors to test their skills on. There are also many ropes and ladders built in the trees for the bravest of climbers to venture throughout the canopies and test their bravery on free-fall jumps.
The zipline will use a new system, which ensures full connectivity to the lifelines above the elements. Certified guides will be available along the course to provide instructions, assistance and motivation.
“We hope to give visitors to the park one more reason to return or to extend their stay for a few days,” said Michael Smith, president of ZIPstream Fall Creek Falls.
ZIPstream Fall Creek Falls is a collaborative effort of Tennessee State Parks, ArborTrek Canopy Adventures and The Adventure Guild LLC. Other parks in the Southeast also are starting partnership plans with ArborTrek and The Adventure Guild to open other aerial adventure parks.
“We are very excited to introduce this great new addition to Fall Creek Falls State Park,” said Brock Hill, deputy commissioner for the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation’s Bureau of Parks & Conservation. “We believe visitors of all ages will enjoy ZIPstream Fall Creek Falls.”
