Netflix and chill? Netflix & no chill: fall’s axed shows

Some significant changes are coming to Netflix, so let’s all take a second to get up to speed on what’s going on.

According to TVLine, Netflix is canceling the popular series Orange is the New Black. The series will conclude on the seventh season, which is set to premiere in 2019. Series creator Jenjo Cohan expressed his feelings on the show’s cancellation.

“After seven seasons, it’s time to be released from prison,” Cohan said. “I will miss all the… ladies from Litchfield and the incredible crew we’ve worked with.”

In fact, there are quite a bit of shows on Netflix that are getting axed.

According to Refinery29House of Cards, Marvel’s Iron Fist, American Vandal, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, The Break with Michelle Wolf, Everything Sucks! and Seven Seconds are on their last lap.

Aside from Orange is the New Black and House of Cards, most of these shows didn’t last for over two or three years.

However, Netflix is gaining plenty more content for the month of November. If Netflix originals are your cup of tea, shows like Angela’s Christmas, Follow This: Part 3 and The Judgement will become available on Nov. 1.

A slew of Netflix films like Cam, The Crew, Outlaw King and Sabrina will become available later in November, according to Gamespot.

In the neighborhood of non-Netflix Originals, comedy films like Scary Movie 2 and Scary Movie 3 will become available at the start of the month. If you’re still looking to satisfy your horror movie fix after Halloween, Bram Stoker’s Dracula will also be appearing on Netflix on Nov. 1.

In other Netflix news, rumors have been circulating around the internet that the Harry Potter movies will be coming to Netflix. This is true, but only if you live in France or Belgium.

The U.S. and U.K. will not be getting the eight-movie series on Netflix, at least not yet.

According to ShortList, a Netflix UK spokesperson confirmed that there are no plans to bring the film series to the UK at all.

Netflix has not released a timetable on when the Harry Potter series will appear on Netflix in the United States, if ever. However, for those seeking to binge the series this break, remember that most films can be rented on YouTube for roughly $3.

While many shows are being canceled and Harry Potter isn’t coming to Netflix quite yet, there is plenty of new content coming to the streaming service in November.

Lists containing all of the new shows and movies can be found online at websites such as www.thrillist.com.
