Movies to fall in love with this February

  1. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist In this movie, we follow Nick (Michael Cera) on his journey of having an awesome band, finding the secret show of his favorite band and getting over his ex, Tris (Alexis Dziena). Along the way he meets nepo baby of a famous music producer, Norah (Kat Dennings). Norah tries to help get Nick over his ex, which seems impossible. Nick doesn’t know that Norah is also trying to get away from her ex, Tal (Jay Baruchel). Nick and Norah share love for the band, Fluffy and go on a scavenger hunt to find the secret show they are set to play. Along the way they overcome multiple challenges together. All trying to figure out the answer to the same question: Where is Fluffy?
  2. 27 DressesYou always hear the term “always the bridesmaid, never the bride.” This is a true statement for Jane Nichols (Katherine Heigl). Jane is known to put others’ needs before her own. Which in turn makes her a bridesmaid for many of her friends. Once Janes sister, Tess (Malin Akerman), becomes engaged to the man she loves, George (Edward Burns), Jane doesn’t know if she can keep up the supportive bridesmaid act. Kevin Doyle (James Marsden) is a journalist for the NY Journal, he covers weddings against his will. He decides to write a story on Jane about how many weddings she has been to, which Jane does not find amusing. This leads to Jane lashing out on her sister Tess and then the wedding of Tess and George being canceled. Will Jane and Tess reconcile? Will Jane have the wedding of her dreams one day?
  3. Anyone but You Bea (Sydney Sweeney) has to use the bathroom badly, so she stops in a coffee shop. This is where she meets Ben (Glen Powell) who acts like her husband to get the bathroom key for her. After a date that started great but ended terribly, Ben and Bea never wanted to see each other again. This does not go as planned because they both find themselves in Sydney, Australia attending the wedding of Beas sister and Bens best friend. Bea’s parents brought her ex-fiancé, Jonathon (Darren Barnet) to Sydney to try and get them back together. It just so happens that Ben’s ex-girlfriend, Margaret (Charlee Fraser) is also there. Bea decides to act like she is back together with Jonathon to get her parents off their backs. Ben tries to repair things with Margaret. The real question is are they with the right people or are they meant for each other?
  4. She’s the Man Viola Hastings (Amanda Bynes) is a high school soccer player. When her high school soccer team gets cut, she tries to stand up for her team. Her boyfriend, Justin (Robert Hoffman), does not stick up for her so she breaks up with him in front of everyone. Sebastian (James Kirk), Violas brother, decided to tour in London with his band when he was supposed to be joining a new boarding school, Illyria. Viola decides to impersonate Sebastian and try out for the boy’s soccer team and live at the school, under Sebastian’s name. Here she meets Duke (Channing Tatum), a star player on the soccer team. Duke agrees to help Viola make first string on the soccer team in exchange for her helping him with a girl he likes. This movie has a lot of plot twists! Does Viola get caught?
  5. Always Be My Maybe Sasha (Ali Wong) is a successful chef who had an awkward fling with Marcus (Randall Park) when they were teenagers. The fling ended in bad taste and the two stopped talking until they ran into each other when Sasha moved back to their hometown to open a restaurant. In the middle of the movie, things are going good and Marcus and Sasha start dating. That turns sour when Sasha wants Marcus to go with her to open another restaurant in New York. He doesn’t want to go because he does not like being in the light of the press. At this point you think the relationship is over. Will Marcus regret his decision to leave Sasha?
  6. Sweet Home AlabamaMelanie is engaged to the New York City mayor’s son, Andrew. Which wouldn’t be a problem if she wasn’t already married to a man who will not sign divorce papers. Melanie goes to her hometown, Pigeon Creek, Alabama, in hopes to settle the divorce with her high school sweetheart, Jake. Melanie and Jake get into an argument, Jake does not sign the papers and now Melanie must stay in Alabama longer than she wanted to. She starts being reminded of all the things she loves about being home. Will Jake ever give Melanie that divorce?
  7. If You Were the Last Adam (Anthony Mackie) and Jane (Zoë Chao) are astronauts that are three years into a NASA mission gone wrong, stuck adrift in space between Saturn and Jupiter. They have been each other’s worlds and only contact since their other crew member, Benson (Missi Pyle), died. They have little hope for rescue and wonder if the government would even attempt to rescue them. In likely their final days, they begin to debate if their relationship should stay platonic since they have partners back on Earth or if they should become something more. Will they decide to respect their marriages, or embrace the connection they have formed?
  8. The Great Gatsby (2013) This movie adaption of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s follows Nick Carraway (Tobey Maguire) life as he moves to New York in 1922 to learn about the bond business. He becomes neighbors with a man named Jay Gatsby (Leonardo DiCaprio), a mysterious and lavish party host and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy. Nick receives an invitation to one of Mr. Gatsby’s illustrious parties and he finds himself entangled in Gatsby’s world of drama, wealth and tragedy. As he becomes deeper into the entanglement, he learns that Gatsby is in love with Daisy. Will Nick encourage Gatsby’s love for Daisy.
  9. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days Andie (Kate Hudson), an advice columnist, is confident she can get a man to leave her in ten days. While Benjamin (Matthew McConaughey) is confident he can make any woman fall in love with him in ten days. When the two meet, their plans collide, leading to a battle of will and romance. As Andie deliberately engages in behaviors designed to drive him away, Benjamin counters with charm and persistence. Will their conflicting goals tear them apart, or will it pull them together?
  10. Romeo and Juliet (1996) A modernized retelling of the classic tale of star-crossed lovers. Despite their family history, Romeo (Leonardo DiCaprio) and Juliet (Claire Danes) wish to be together. Since Romeo is a Montague and Juliet is a Capulet, the two had met until they encountered each other in the bathroom at Juliet’s family masked ball. Here, they fall in love at first sight. They begin to secretly meet and vow to be together, despite their families’ conflicts. Will they ever be allowed to marry?
