UTM students can look forward to a new miniature golf course called Rolling Hills Miniature Golf opening April 15, in Gleason.
Audie and Bobbie Ruble’s dream of providing a place that everyone could enjoy became reality after Audie won over a million dollars on fantasy football website, FanDuel, leading to the idea of a mini golf course.
After they found property for sale in their hometown, Bobbie left her job at a nearby Marathon station, began construction and is excited about the quickly approaching grand opening.
“We are in the heart of many small towns. There’s not much around here to do with your kids, and we just thought it was a great location that’s easy to get to from everywhere,” Bobbie said.
Bobbie reflected on growing up in poverty and working all her life, saying that their main intention in opening the business wasn’t to get rich, but to give the community a place to enjoy.
According to Bobbie, one of the main focuses when planning their business was affordable pricing so that everyone can enjoy the course.
“There will never be a child that wants to play that can’t afford it,” Bobbie said.
When asked why they decided to build a mini golf course rather than a traditional course, Bobbie said they wanted to accommodate everyone.
“We wanted to do something everybody can do, age one to 100, everybody can play mini golf, and we had the course specifically designed to accommodate the handicapped.”
Rolling Hills will be open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m.-10 p.m.
Admission prices are $6.15 for ages 13 and up; $5.24 for ages five-12; and $5.69 for people age 60 and older, members of the military, and handicap.
The course will carry a variety of concessions with a full list of prices on their Facebook page.
