Maintaining focus as the finish line approaches

We at The Pacer would like to welcome students, faculty and staff back to campus after a well-deserved Fall Break. However, we would also like to take this time to issue a word of caution.

Is it just us, or did the break fly by much too quickly? Sure it is only an extra two days, but it is just the right amount of time to relax from the pressures of college life and see family and friends.

The time off comes at a halfway mark in the semester and the rest of the term will fly by just as quickly as fall break seemed to do. The next respite will be during the Thanksgiving holiday, and at that point the pressure is on.

Counting finals week, there is a grand total of eight weeks left. That may seem like a lot of time, but in reality, it is not. The end is in sight.

The same is true for all of those assignments, quizzes and tests that were announced and discussed at the beginning of the semester.

This is the point of the year where things may begin to get hairy. You may feel the pressure in your classes or have a heavier workload. However, it is important to keep pushing. You have made it this far.

The key is to keep going. Do not get lackadaisical and continue to work just as hard. Work due during this time is usually a heavy portion of your final grade, and can be damaging if not given the proper attention.

Therefore, keep organized. Now is the time to plan for your success. Break out your organization tool of choice, venti pumpkin spice latte with an extra shot of espresso and get to work!
