In memory of Kellen Riley Phillips

Kellen Riley Phillips departed this life on December 2, 2014 at the age of 19 Years, 10 Months, and 14 Days. He was born on January 18, 1995, the son of Kevin M. Phillips and Kristan Gibbs Hutton, who survive.

Kellen was a lifelong Hardin Countian, graduating from Hardin County High School where he was always a part of school activities and enjoyed making people laugh. As a student at the University of Tennessee at Martin, he became a Pike – a member of the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity – and a participant in the Wildlife Society. Even though he was only 19, his work history was impressive; he had been employed with Tennessee Valley Electric Cooperative and Main Street Pharmacy, as well as working as a sales associate for Final Flight.

Duck and bow hunting, fishing, and sports were favorite ways for Kellen to spend his spare time. He also enjoyed attending services at Sharon Baptist Church, where he was a member. Whenever possible, he was surrounded by his friends; his personality drew people to him, and he was loved by all.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brother, Austin Kade Phillips of Savannah, Tennessee, his special friend, Kate Kucherenko of Adamsville, Tennessee, his cousins, Weston Phillips of Savannah, Tennessee and Grace Phillips of Bethel Springs, Tennessee, and his grandparents, Gary and Jane Gibbs of Savannah, Tennessee and Doris DeBerry of Bethel Springs, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Jeffrey Wikins Hutton; and grandfather, Joe Robert Phillips.
Services will be held on December 6, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah, Tennessee, with Will McReynolds, John Guyer, Will Rich officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Savannah, Tennessee
