UT Martin has officially opened the application for Thanksgiving Break and Winter Break Housing.

Beginning Nov. 1, 2023, students at UT Martin will have the opportunity to apply for housing services over the Thanksgiving Break holiday via RoomPact. The holiday period will be from Nov. 22 to Nov. 26, 2023. The Department of Residence Life and Housing has sent corresponding e-mails to students, encouraging students who are staying over the break to sign up as soon as possible.

During the Thanksgiving Holiday break, most resources on campus will either be restricted or closed. For example, Sodexo dining services will be unavailable to students from the morning of Nov. 22 to noon on Nov. 26. The Department of Residence Life and Housing will also have certain restrictions on their services, such as maintenance, utilities, and Captain’s Pantry.

Housing restrictions will become active on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 5:00 P.M. and remain in effect until Saturday, Nov. 28 at 8:00 A.M. Only students who register for housing over the holiday break will be given accessibility to swipe into their residence halls and floors.

In addition, The Department of Residence Life and Housing has also opened the Winter Break registration form. This form will become active and available for students on Nov. 1 as well.

If students intend on returning for Spring 2024, they can enjoy free break housing during the Winter Break month. This will begin at 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2023, and run consecutively until 8:00 A.M. on Monday, Jan. 9, 2024. Students can fill out the Winter Break Housing form via RoomPact and only those who register will have access to the swipe-entry residence halls.

Students who are returning home for winter/holiday break but will return for the spring semester can leave their items in their dorm rooms. Students may do this after registration for Spring courses has been completed, as this ensures they will remain residents on campus and students at UT Martin. There is no need for students to register specifically for Winter Break Housing unless they will be actively on campus during this time.

However, if students are not returning for Spring 2024, individuals will need to complete a move-out form before 5:00 P.M. on Saturday, Dec. 9, 2023. The Department of Residence Life and Housing will be sending out detailed instructions for Winter Break soon to student’s email accounts. All housing services will also be limited during this month with more details to follow.
