Freshman Trystan Bechtel, 19, was killed this morning in a one-car crash on Highway 54 northeast of Bradford, Tenn.

Bechtel was the only occupant in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

According to a Tennessee Motor Vehicle Fatality Report, Bechtel’s vehicle was traveling north on Highway 54 when the vehicle left the road and struck a bridge barrier. The vehicle overturned, and she was then ejected from the vehicle. The report also stated she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time the accident occurred.

She was driving a 1999 Ford Explorer.

Bechtel was a member of Alpha Omicron Pi and was planning to major in Nursing.

The Pacer will continue to update the story as more information becomes available.
