Fall fashion trends involve lots of layers, deep tones

If you’re looking to be stylish, remember that fall is all about the warm tones, and trying to stay warm and cool at the same time.

This year’s fall fashion may not differ much from last year, but new fashion trends will be added to the mix. Women seem to be very peculiar when it comes to knowing if last year’s fashion is still in style for the current season.

Glamour magazine shows that fall fashion is all about layering. The top-layering candidate is anything under a denim jacket. Colors that are hot for fall 2014 are deep reds, greens, and oranges.

Prints are also a huge fall must.

According to Pinterest, you may have some of the hottest fashion statements hidden away in your closet, or you can recycle some cute tops from summer.

Tanks under cardigans are a neat way to reuse summer clothes and a great way to save money.

Monograms have really taken fashion by storm. Long-sleeved shirts or sweatshirts are a great way to be comfy and cute with your personal monogram, pocketed shirts, or greek letters.

You can get monograms added to anything in your closest or fresh new clothing at Monograms and More and BSN Sports in Martin and Say it in Stitches in Union City.

Cable knit sweaters for late fall is the craze for comfort this year  and you can layer them for a more fancy look with a button-up shirt.

Small-boutique clothing like long tunic tops, paired with leggings and riding boots has become the perfect go to outfit. Shopping locally for these types of outfits is a great way to find the clothes you need.

The Whispering Tree and Sugar and Spice are boutiques found in Martin and The Chocolate Bunny and All Dolled Up can be found in Union City.

If you don’t have the free time during store hours because of your class schedule or work, then book a party with It’s a Girl Thing, a store on wheels that will come to your house and set up their clothes. This is a perfect way to spend time with your girlfriends and is convenient for you all to shop and try on clothes in the comfort of your house.

Keeping your feet warm, but also trying to stay cute in the process, can be difficult. Ballet flats, covered toe wedges, and cowboy or riding boots are always in style.

”Riding boots, leggings, and long sweaters are my favorite fashion trend,” said Allison Cook, a senior Public Relations major.

Jewelry, nail art, and headbands that wrap around your head are great items to use to either dress up any outfit or even dress down an outfit.

Sock buns are also a great way to look cute if you don’t want to put too much time into fixing your hair or if you’re running late.

Fall fashion doesn’t always have to come from the popular sites or opinions of others. Don’t be afraid to start your own trend – you never know how fast it may get picked up by others.

Being yourself and wearing what best fits you is the best trend of all.
