University Community,
Following guidance from the University of Tennessee System, UT Martin’s main campus and five regional centers will extend the mask requirement for all indoor public spaces until our local conditions improve. Masks are not required outdoors, in private offices, residence hall rooms, while engaging in fitness activities, and while actively eating and drinking. Local, regional and state COVID-19 trends will continue to be evaluated daily, and I’ll be communicating regular updates about our mask mandate for the main campus and regional centers.
UT Martin is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all students, faculty, staff and university visitors. The university also continues to stress the importance of being vaccinated for COVID-19. Walk-in appointments for the COVID-19 vaccine are available at our local CVS locations in Martin and Dresden, as well as the Martin Walmart.
Again, if you aren’t vaccinated, I’d highly recommend you consider it.
Please also continue to visit the UT Martin COVID-19 link for daily updates on university conditions.
Despite the challenges, I am grateful for the work that’s being done in the classrooms, labs and offices all across the university community.
All the best,
Dr. Keith Carver, Chancellor
