Editorial: Pacer staff appreciate the little things

“‘Tis the season for yummy treats, enjoying the last of the fall colors, and distracting oneself from the onslaught of finals with holiday cheer.”

We at The Pacer would like to wish you all the best of luck during finals and a very happy holiday season. This time of year can be very stressful for a multitude of reasons. We hope that we can provide a place of support when needed and, alternatively, informative entertainment throughout.

As fellow members of The Pacer staff express their own sentiments of gratitude, I would like to formally thank all of you, our wonderful readers, for your help and support during this past semester. Despite the changes and adaptations The Pacer has had to undergo these past 95 years – even this past semester – you all have remained diligent in your enthusiasm.

Here is to next year, and may we continue to be your independent voice of UT Martin.

Kaylee Michon, Executive Editor

Abby Coe, Features and Web Editor

I’m thankful for all the people in my life who I know have my back and that I can lean on for support. It has really made surviving college and my senior year easier so far because I know that I have people I can turn to who are willing to help me at any time and ease my stress, which I always seem to have an abundance of.

Jordan Stringfield, News Editor

This year I am thankful for a lot of things.  I’m thankful for my education and opportunities, my family and friends, and my life. I have felt very blessed this past year, and I am so excited to celebrate Thanksgiving with those who give the holiday meaning to me.

Trey Kelly, Staff Writer

I’m thankful for my mom and siblings. It’s been a tumultuous few years for our family, and I’m thankful I have a place to call home and family I’m close with. Love y’all more than you know.

Bethany Collins, Staff Writer

Every year when this time comes around, I am always thankful for my friends and family. I have been blessed to have such an amazing support system in my friends on and off campus, along with my family, who help me as much as they can when I need it. I am forever thankful and blessed to have them.

Clarissa Spitzley, Executive Media Design Editor

I am thankful for a lot of different people in my life this year. Of course, I will start with my friends and family who support me. I appreciate my family for hearing out my decisions about what I want to do with my life and my friends for helping me move out of tough situations. I appreciate and am thankful for my teachers who are helping me achieve my dreams by pushing and guiding me.

Jerrianna Somerville, Staff Writer

This Thanksgiving, I’m thankful for the amazing opportunities that UT Martin has to offer so far and the amazing friends I have made over the course of the few months I have been here. I’m also thankful for my family who continues to encourage me while I’m away from home.

Alex Mitchell, Staff Writer

I am thankful for being able to meet new people everyday and learn something new with each experience I have. I also appreciate having friends and people that care about me and are here for me, and I love going to UTM to get an opportunity in life that I would not had have at any college.

Will Spencer, Arts and Entertainment Editor

As always, I’m thankful for such a wonderful campus community. UTM is an environment teeming with grace and compassion for its students, and it has been pivotal during this chapter of my life. Without this anchor, I would not be nearly as fulfilled.
