I did my waiting — four long years of it.
I can officially write a senior farewell to this wonderful paper, its staff and the university that is lucky to have them.
I never believed I would write a senior farewell for The Pacer. I switched my major so many times that I did not think I would be back to writing in my last year.
I have been blessed with fantastic friends, a top-notch faculty and staff and an environment that nurtures my desire to experience life. I am so grateful to know that I have made a small difference in my time here if only due to the pieces I wrote for this paper.
The fact that I have switched majors three times and I’m still graduating on time is out of this world.
As an Interdisciplinary Studies major, I have been able to take my knowledge in many areas and apply it to this publication and my life.
If I could transfer any knowledge to students, I would urge everyone to take their college years and do as much as they can. Studying and graduating are important, but do not let opportunities that are only given to college students pass you by.
UTM is a great place to make your roots, but it should also be a place to expand your branches. Reaching towards new experiences and goals can make a major difference in your life.
I may be leaving UTM, but I will forever have a place in my heart set aside for the home of the Soybean Festival. I will never forget the rodeos, the football games and the insane college homecomings.
I will always be a Skyhawk and will always remember that each day is a “great day to be a Skyhawk.”
