‘Dying Light 2’ – A 500-hour adventure

It is no surprise that “Dying light 2: Stay Human” is already making the charts with high ratings such as a “7/10” from IGN. This video game earns its praise for a few good reasons.

“Dying Light 2” allows players to use a parkour mechanic to escape zombies. This mechanic can determine life or death in some close-call situations. While the parkour aspect of the game is super handy to outrun zombies, it also allows the player to go to safe houses higher up buildings and away from the hoards. Along with that, it helps with traveling the game’s open world.

Another aspect is how difficult and terrifying the zombies are to handle at night. While other games have an increased difficulty during nighttime, “Dying Light 2” has mastered the fear of fighting a horde of zombies at night. The game contains special infected zombies, such as ones with increased speed; Howlers zombies that call out for the hoards to attack the player if he’s spotted; and Banshees that throw themselves at the player, as well as a few others. Due to knowing these dangers, waiting for the daytime can become your best friend.

A noticeable addition to the game’s graphics is that it provides a post-apocalyptic world in a beautiful yet eerie way. For example, an early cutscene in the game shows a bunch of friends having one last party before dying from the harshness of the apocalypse. In the game, the now-deceased partygoers surround a party table as a beautiful sunset is shown in the background.

Later, as you make more progress within the main story and side missions, you still can find beauty within the apocalyptic landscapes. Parts of the wastelands are now overtaken by nature once again. The game also has a massive open world, allowing the player to explore and find hidden stashes of weapons, tools, item upgrades/schematics, side quests and other useful items for crafting or selling to NPCs.

According to Developer Techland, it would take over 500 hours to “max out the game,” which means the player would have to finish all the quests, complete the five different endings and “explore every part of the world.”

Overall, fans of zombie apocalypse video games may enjoy “Dying Light 2,” and this game would be worth checking out if you need a new game to play.
