Brian Affolter is a senior Broadcasting Performance major from Brentwood.
Affolter has been singing since he was 10 years old. His love of music bloomed after he joined a band in the fifth grade.
“(Music) is just a big part of my life, something that I can use to express my emotions. I love the emotional depth the arts can bring out of people,” Affolter said. “I guess that’s what’s pulled me towards it.”
Through the University Scholar program, Affolter has created his very own album titled Shattered under the stage name Brian Marcus.
Scholars in the program have to do a two-year project and Affolter thought that because music has been such a major part in his life, he would base his project around it.
“I definitely would not be making an album (without Scholars). Maybe I would be, but it would definitely be a lot more lower budget,” Affolter said.
After graduation, Affolter plans on building his voice portfolio in hopes to become a voice actor.
Affolter’s eight-song album can be found on Youtube, Spotify and iTunes. Fans can expect his album to be released by Feb. 24.
