Owner and operator of The Laundry Bag, Kelly Frazier, has started a laundry service specifically for UTM students to put the L back in “GTL: gym, tan, laundry.”
Her service offers students a chance to get their clothes washed, folded, hung up and any other laundry service they may desire.
“Students pay $10 for the starter kit, which includes a big laundry bag, Shout wipes, lint rollers, hangers and such. Then students would pay $20 each time for the laundry bag full of clothes to be clean,” Frazier said.
Frazier makes appointments with the students to pick up and drop off the clothes when it is convenient for them.
“If students want their clothes picked up on Monday, I will have them back by Wednesday. … I also will make arrangements for weekend pickups and dropoffs,” Frazier said.
Additional laundry bags are available for $10 each. The service also includes washing of comforters and area rugs for an additional $5 and spot treatment for many garments. She will do any special request students would like for their clothes.
“Clothes are too expensive for students to just wash them any kind of way. I am a mother of a college student, so I understand how much appearance means to students. I just want to offer them a service from someone who will take care of their clothes just as their mothers would,” Frazier said.
Frazier also will clean any rooms for $25.
“My mom and daughter help me whenever I need it, but mostly I want my business to be a helping hand to students. I understand college can be a lot so I just want to give the students one less thing to worry about doing,” Frazier said.
Frazier also mentioned that she does have a few students who have signed up already, but hopes students will help her with getting the word out around campus.
