The UTM Advisory Board will hold its winter meeting Friday, Jan. 10. The meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in room 206AB of the Boling University Center.
The UT Focus Act, passed by the Tennessee General Assembly in 2018, is the umbrella legislation under which the Advisory Board was created.
The Advisory Board is composed of seven members: five public members, one faculty member and one student member. Members are appointed by Governor Bill Lee and are then confirmed by the General Assembly. The current public members are Katie Ashley of Franklin, Hal Bynum of Sharon, Monice Hagler of Memphis, Art Sparks of Union City and Julia Wells of Jackson. The faculty and student members are Chris Caldwell of Rives and Lauren Carter of Olive Branch, Mississippi.
The meeting held on Jan. 10 will be one of four quarterly meetings held by the Advisory Board each year.
The agenda for this meeting includes student life programming and plans, UT Promise application deadlines and program details, and course transfer procedures between UT campuses.
Associated meeting materials and the full agenda for the winter meeting can be accessed at utm.edu/advisoryboard or by contacting Erin Chesnut at echesnut@utm.edu, 731-881-7612 or in room 304 of the Hall-Moody Administration Building.
