2025 NFL Mock Draft 2.0: QB falls to Jets, Saints bolster trenches

This week the NFL and draft prospects come together at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis for the annual NFL draft combine. It is now time for my second NFL mock draft.

This mock does not include trade predictions, however it does include select predictions for free agency which begins on March 10. The final two mock drafts, which will release at later dates, will include trade predictions. Night one of the draft is set for April 24 at 7 p.m.

  1. Tennessee Titans: Cam Ward, QB, Miami

After many scenarios of trading out of the pick or selecting Abdul Carter go through the minds of the Titans front office, the risk of passing on QB this year and missing out on one next offseason pushes Borgonzi and company to select Ward first overall.

  1. Cleveland Browns: Abdul Carter, DE, Penn State

With or without Myles Garrett the Browns draft the best player available with Ward now off the board. Carter is viewed as one of the few blue chip prospects at the most coveted position on the defense.

  1. New York Giants: Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Colorado

The New York Giants have to make the playoffs in 2025 for this current regime to keep their jobs. While they could select Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders at this selection they would be putting their jobs in the hands of a rookie quarterback. I believe they will add a veteran QB like Matthew Stafford and select Sanders’ teammate third overall.

  1. New England Patriots: Mason Graham, DT, Michigan

Mike Vrabel first draft as the Patriots head coach must result in a building block for the future. Vrabel gets the best interior defensive player in the draft at a position of need.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars: Tetairoa McMillan, WR, Arizona

Liam Coen in his first draft as the Jaguars HC now gets to build an offense around his scheme. He gets to pair a highly skilled McMillan with a 2nd year receiver in Brian Thomas Jr.. The clock has officially started on Trevor Lawrence.

  1. Las Vegas Raiders: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State

The Raiders RB room was the worst in football last season. In this scenario Las Vegas signs Sam Darnold to be their starting QB in free agency. Raiders then follow up giving him one of the best RB prospects of the last decade.

  1. New York Jets: Shedeur Sanders, QB, Colorado

The Jets, who are in desperate need of a QB following the departure of Aaron Rodgers, are stunned when Shedeur Sanders falls past the Raiders giving them a chance to select him. Aaron Glenn selects Sanders to be the QB going forward.

  1. Carolina Panthers: Jalon Walker, LB, Georgia

The Panthers have many needs on the defensive side of the field. This pick is a coin flip between the pass rusher Walker and Michigan CB Will Johnson. In this mock draft, I have them selecting Walker and bolstering the defensive line.

  1. New Orleans Saints: Will Campbell, OT, LSU

This will be a complete rebuild for the Saints. Kellen Moore saw the value of a great offensive line in his one year in Philadelphia. Coming off a Superbowl win, Moore snags Campbell who falls here to nine. Campbell can take a season to find out if he truly is a starting NFL tackle.

  1. Chicago Bears: Shemar Stewart, DE, Texas A&M

After making many improvements to the offensive line in free agency, Ben Johnson gives DC Dennis Allen and star pass rusher Montez Sweat the most explosive pass rusher in the draft. Stewart can play DE or put on a little weight and kick inside to play the three-technique. Versatility and potential lead the Bears to selecting Stewart.

  1. San Francisco 49ers: Will Johnson, CB, Michigan
  2. Dallas Cowboys: Mykel Williams, DE, Georgia
  3. Miami Dolphins: Tyler Warren, TE, Penn State
  4. Indianapolis Colts: Malaki Starks, S, Georgia
  5. Atlanta Falcons: Mike Green, DE, Marshall
  6. Arizona Cardinals: Tyler Booker, OG, Alabama
  7. Cincinnati Bengals: Walter Nolen, DT, Ole Miss
  8. Seattle Seahawks: Armand Membou, OT, Missouri
  9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jihaad Campbell, LB, Alabama
  10. Denver Broncos: Colston Loveland, TE, Michigan
  11. Pittsburgh Steelers: Jahdae Barron, S, Texas
  12. Los Angeles Chargers: James Pearce Jr., DE, Tennessee
  13. Green Bay Packers: Kelvin Banks, OL, Texas
  14. Minnesota Vikings: Omarion Hampton, RB, North Carolina
  15. Houston Texans: Emeka Egbuka, WR, Ohio State
  16. Los Angeles Rams: Matthew Golden, WR, Texas
  17. Baltimore Ravens: Josh Simmons, OT, Ohio State
  18. Detroit Lions: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
  19. Washington Commanders: Nic Scourton, DE, Texas A&M
  20. Buffalo Bills: Nick Emmanwori, S, South Carolina
  21. Kansas City Chiefs: Luther Burden, WR, Missouri
  22. Philadelphia Eagles: Grey Zabel, OL, NDSU
